"Watering the distant, deserting the near" I
Beginning my research on the natural springs of Bahrain, I set out to find archival material documenting the landscape and the factors contributing to its demise. Among my finds were a collection of old photographs shot in the 1950’s at the spring of Adhari and academic papers examining and plotting the numerous issues the natural sources of water were facing. These three collages bring together these finds in a manner that expresses the fond times experienced when the springs were plentiful, the fading reflection (memory) of that time, and the data contributing to the loss.
